LAREDO, Texas - TelAve -- Jose Silva Jr., President of Silva Method UltraMind LLC, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 1, 2026, three weeks shy of his 85th birthday, with his family by his bedside.

His father Jose Silva founded the Silva Mind Control Method in the 1960's and the Silva UltraMind ESP System in 1998.

"He was at peace and so are we" his daughter Ruth Silva said. "He let us know what he wanted and we will continue the work he was doing, the way he asked us to."

The eldest of Jose and Paula Silva's 10 children, Joe had a unique opportunity to witness and document his father's famous research that led to the Silva Method and his newest course, the Silva UltraMind ESP System.

During the past two decades he contributed his knowledge and experience to several new Silva books so that this knowledge will be maintained.

He had a full life: A military veteran, a rancher and horse breeder, a karate champion, a businessman, and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967, USS Canberra, during which he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Through it all, what mattered most to him was his large extended family, and the extensive work he did to insure that his father's work continues to be preserved and made available throughout the world.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Ruth, two children David and Ruth, five grandchildren, and six siblings. Three other siblings preceded him in death.

Arrangements are being made by the Joe Jackson Funeral Home. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the Laredo Veterans Honor Guard. A private cremation will be held at a later date.
