Juneau Residents Invited to Share Input on Downtown Waterfront Improvements Phase II – Restrooms and Covered Shelter Plans

~ Juneau, Alaska - The City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) has announced an upcoming open house to present design concepts for new public restrooms and a covered shelter on the downtown waterfront. The event, hosted by CBJ and the design team of Northwind Architects, PND Engineers, Inc., Corvus Design, and Jensen Yorba Wall, Inc., will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

The project aims to provide additional restrooms and a covered shelter to enhance the downtown waterfront area for both residents and seasonal visitors. The improvements also include modular seating and architectural features within Peratrovich Plaza.

The open house will be held at Northwind Architects located at 126 Seward St. Community members are invited to attend from 5:30pm to 7:30pm to learn more about the project. Presentations by CBJ and the design team will take place at 5:45pm and 6:45pm.

CBJ is seeking community input on how the facility can best support a range of uses throughout the year. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and provide critical feedback as the project moves through design refinement. The event is in-person only and no RSVP is required.
