~ Juneau, Alaska - The Suicide Basin, a glacial lake located near the city of Juneau, is currently at full capacity and is expected to release within the next 1-6 days. As a result, residents in the inundation area are being advised to take immediate action and finalize their preparations for potential flooding.

According to the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ), Tlingit & Haida, and local weather agencies, the basin will continue to be closely monitored. An alert will be issued as soon as the basin begins to release.

To stay informed and prepared, residents are encouraged to view the Evacuation Advisory Map and visit bit.ly/JuneauFloodReady for more information on how to prepare for evacuation or flooding. Additionally, emergency alerts can be received by signing up at bit.ly/CBJAlerts or texting CBJ to 38276.
