HENDERSON, N.C. - TelAve -- A tragic incident in Northern Virginia has left a community in shock following the deaths of former Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax and his wife, Cerina Fairfax. Authorities say the couple was discovered early Thursday morning inside their Annandale home in what investigators believe to be a murder-suicide.

According to Fairfax County police, the situation unfolded shortly after midnight. Officials report that Fairfax allegedly shot his wife before taking his own life. The couple's teenage children were inside the residence at the time and are now being cared for by relatives after one of them placed the 911 call that alerted authorities.
