~ Kansas City Water Issues Precautionary Boil Water Advisory in Richard Gebaur Neighborhood
In light of recent repairs, KC Water has issued a precautionary boil water advisory to customers in the Richard Gebaur neighborhood. The affected area includes E 155th and W Markey Rd and Fairchild Dr to Nellis Dr.
The advisory was put in place as a safety measure after a loss of positive pressure on a water main during repairs. KC Water is urging customers in the affected area to follow certain guidelines until further notice.
Firstly, all drinking water should be boiled vigorously for three minutes before use. This includes water used for drinking, cooking, and preparing food. It is important to let the water cool sufficiently before consuming it.
Additionally, ice made with un-boiled tap water should not be used for drinking purposes. Dishes and food contact surfaces can be disinfected using tap water that contains one teaspoon of household bleach per gallon.

While the tap water is safe for other purposes such as bathing, small children should be discouraged from swallowing bath water. However, boiled water can be used for brushing teeth.
KC Water will be conducting tests on the tap water in the affected area to ensure its quality and safety. Customers will receive notification from KC Water when the boil water advisory can be lifted.
For any questions or concerns, customers can contact KC Water's 24/7 Water Dispatch at 816-513-0416 or the Water Laboratory at 816-513-7000 during regular business hours.
