~ Mesa's new City Manager, Scott Butler, has recently announced the appointment of Lance Webb as the new Mesa City Engineer. Webb, who has been a part of the City of Mesa Engineering Department since 2012, was previously serving as an Assistant City Engineer before being promoted to his current position.

According to Butler, Webb's extensive knowledge and experience in public infrastructure projects over the past 13 years make him a valuable addition to the team. "Lance has been instrumental in helping us build Mesa and has consistently displayed strong leadership skills throughout his tenure," said Butler. He expressed confidence in Webb's abilities and looks forward to seeing him excel in his new role.

Webb's career in engineering began 22 years ago when he joined CMX Engineering, where he worked on master planning and engineering for water resources in both residential and commercial development projects. In 2008, he joined Dibble Engineering, where he continued to work on various private and public projects.

A native of Mesa himself, Webb holds a bachelor's degree in civil and environmental engineering from Brigham Young University. He is also a certified floodplain manager and a certified public manager. Webb takes over the position from Beth Huning, who retired on May 22 after serving as Mesa City Engineer for 18 years.

In his previous roles within the Engineering Department, Webb successfully led and oversaw more than 500 capital improvement projects totaling over $1.4 billion in design and construction. With his experience and expertise, he is expected to continue driving progress and development within the city of Mesa for years to come.
