LATO AI Software Innovations Expedite Inspections & Repair of Parking Lots for The Pavement Group
TelAve News/10903468
PITTSBURGH - TelAve -- AI-driven technology crafted by LATO AI is helping national pavement management company The Pavement Group reduce its price estimate turnaround time from weeks to minutes.
Founded in 2018, The Pavement Group provides pavement management solutions for property owners across the United States. Through its nationwide 1Team Contractor Network of more than 3,500 trusted contractor partners, the company delivers technology-driven pavement assessments, maintenance planning and project execution for organizations across the retail, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, multifamily and commercial sectors.
The Pavement Group embraced AI technology early to facilitate site surveys, streamline paperwork and improve communication to keep jobs on track and prevent costly delays. But when you're coordinating more than 1,700 projects annually among more than 3,100 contractors nationwide, there's always room for improvement.
Providing fully customized, AI-powered automation systems and boutique-level attention, LATO AI delivers tech solutions to improve operations and workflow for companies across the transportation, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, distributing and e-commerce sectors. LATO's tailored solutions solve real-world problems and can be adapted to any industry to save time and money.
"The Pavement Group already used its proprietary PropertyTech app as a communication hub for its contractors, but we knew we could do more to help their clients easily maintain safe and visually appealing parking lots and sidewalks while simultaneously simplifying processes for contractors," said LATO AI Partner Dan Zabokrytskyi.
Modernizing The Pavement Group's PropertyTech platform and software, LATO AI incorporated a new feature that uses the power of AI to inspect the quality of paved surfaces at client properties. Automating this previously manual process has enabled The Pavement Group's contractors to deliver assessments almost instantaneously, shaving weeks off the estimating process.

Geotagged photos of properties are uploaded to PropertyTech and AI automatically identifies the surface type (asphalt versus concrete) and detects pavement distresses, including cracking, raveling, rutting, potholes and patching. Numeric scores between one and 10 are assigned to each photo based on those qualities and weighted averages of the individual photos are used to calculate a final site score.
With color-coded condition labels and a user-friendly interface, the technology makes it easier than ever for The Pavement Group's subcontractors to create estimates and exceed client expectations by delivering them in about five minutes.
Speedy turnaround of cost estimates helps The Pavement Group's customers make quicker repair decisions, resulting in improved safety, reduced liability and easier maintenance planning.
"This new estimating tool greatly enhances our processes by quickly providing clients with an accurate analysis of their surfaces and corresponding repair and replacement recommendations," said Michael Hoogheim, president and COO of The Pavement Group.
"LATO AI's tech solutions truly helped us tap into the power of AI and take our customer service to the next level."
Now, LATO is working to integrate the visual inspection system in PropertyTech with the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) capabilities to streamline the process of requesting and evaluating bids from contractors.
By automatically transferring job information from PropertyTech to The Pavement Group's ERP software, NetSuite, LATO will create a single, connected environment that links sales, sourcing and proposal management to eliminate duplicate manual data entry, increase accuracy and automatically send requests for proposals to qualified vendors and track their responses.

"The latest phase of efficiencies introduced by LATO will accelerate vendor sourcing and proposal turnaround, laying the groundwork for further improvements in quoting jobs, including automated regional pricing and predictive pricing," said The Pavement Group CEO Brian Hess. "We're proud to usher in tech innovations that enhance the customer experience and make ongoing pavement management simple and hassle-free."
