Libraries For Kids, Int'l Expands to Uganda
TelAve News/10879860
First Book Project in Uganda to Launch Before Christmas. This project marks the foundation for establishing a library in rural primary schools in Uganda.
BLUFFTON, S.C. - TelAve -- Libraries For Kids, Int'l is expanding into Uganda, marking a new chapter in its mission to bring books to rural primary schools across East Africa.
The nonprofit's first project in Uganda will launch just before Christmas, with a shipment of books traveling by water to schools that have never had a library. This effort lays the foundation for a long-term goal: placing books in every rural primary school in the country.
"This is a joyful milestone for our team," said Laura Winkel, CEO of Libraries for Kids, Int'l. "We've seen the power of books in Kenya, and now we're bringing that same hope to children in Uganda."

Most rural schools in Uganda have no libraries and few learning materials. Libraries for Kids, Int'l works to change that by delivering books directly to rural primary schools, often in hard-to-reach areas. The organization partners with local teams to make sure books are delivered safely and used well.
"Our goal is simple," Winkel said. "We want every child to have the chance to read, learn, and dream big. This first shipment is just the beginning."
Volunteers and donors from around the world help make each project possible. The organization invites supporters to follow the journey and help grow the impact. Updates will be shared on the Libraries for Kids website and social media.
