TelAve News/10877656
CHARLOTTE, N.C. - TelAve -- Living Waters Inc, a Charlotte-based non-profit dedicated to community empowerment and well-being, today announced two free community screenings of the powerful film, "Silent Murmur." The screenings will be immediately followed by a discussion aimed at addressing the hidden pain of domestic abuse, mental health, and the path to resilience.
Written and directed by Tunde Sobowale, "Silent Murmur" is inspired by true events and explores the devastating realities of domestic violence and the vital importance of breaking the silence to encourage support for those experiencing abuse. The film centers on a character determined to speak out so that her story can help save others.
"The power of film is its ability to create a safe space for uncomfortable but necessary conversations," said Joan Been, founder of Living Waters, "We are bringing 'Silent Murmur' to Charlotte to shine a light on the struggles facing many in our community and to connect survivors and allies with the resources they need. True healing and community growth begin when we refuse to let these issues remain a 'silent murmur.'"
