CHICAGO ~ Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has welcomed the recent decision by the Supreme Court to deny the Trump administration's emergency request to deploy National Guard personnel in the city. The court voted 6-3 to block the deployment, citing concerns over President Trump's attempts to militarize and demonize Chicago.

In a statement issued by Mayor Johnson, he expressed his satisfaction with the ruling, stating that it not only protects Chicago but also other cities across the country that have been targeted by Trump's campaign against immigrants and Democratic-led cities. He also reiterated his belief that these threats are unconstitutional and commended the Supreme Court for sharing this view.
