MD Labor Automates Elevator Inspections with Evoke

TelAve News/10856322
COLUMBIA, Md. - TelAve -- System Automation (https://systemautomation.com/), the leading regulatory management system provider to state agencies, today announced that Maryland Department of Labor (MD Labor) (https://labor.maryland.gov/) has successfully launched Evoke to support its public safety inspections operations. Evoke, a highly scalable, low-code application platform (LCAP), enables MD Labor to more efficiently manage and inspect over 25,000 elevators located across the state.

Unlike legacy, commercial-off-the-shelf systems, Evoke is a SaaS solution that supports true end-to-end regulatory management. Evoke provides extensive automation and flexibility so government agencies can rapidly deploy new solutions and applications while integrating their unique data requirements and workflows. The platform is ideal for professional licensure, records management, public safety inspections, compliance, and other regulatory management business processes.

"Evoke is already making a big difference in how our state inspectors and agency staff are getting work done," said Christopher Naughton, Computer/Network/Database Specialist II, within MD Labor's Safety Inspection Unit. "The platform's automated workflows have vastly improved the scheduling and tracking of annual elevator inspections, and the robust reporting module is a game-changer for me. Operations are running much more smoothly and efficiently than before."

MD Labor's 80 third party qualified inspectors (TPQEI), and 14 state inspectors including supervisors and the Chief Elevator Inspector, conduct approximately 3,200 elevator inspections a month. This translates into an average of 200 inspection entries a day. And the volume continues to increase with the addition of 600 new elevators a year. Evoke streamlines the agency's entire scheduling and inspection process by capturing and managing all new, renewal, and re-inspections in a quick, automated, search and retrieval solution.

Evoke is saving MD Labor time and enhancing public safety:
  • Agency staff and inspectors are met with an easy, intuitive user interface to perform their work
  • Elevator inspection violations or failures are recorded and flagged until they are resolved
  • Inspection letters and system-generated invoices are automatically queued and sent to appropriate parties
  • Full and partial transfers of elevator ownership are easy to maintain when buildings are sold or partitioned

In addition, MD Labor now has access to configuration controls within Evoke (https://systemautomation.com/solutions/publicsafetyinspections/) that make changing and adapting to new regulations simple and quick. Low-code configuration allows for additional functionality within the Safety Inspection Unit that will provide MD Labor with resource, time, and cost savings without the need for any software customization or software releases.
