Mesa: Enjoy Merry Main Street Through the Holiday Season
TelAve News/10884370
~ Downtown Mesa is the place to be this holiday season as Merry Main Street continues to spread festive cheer through Saturday, Jan. 10. The annual event, in partnership with the City of Mesa and various organizations, offers a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy.
One of the main attractions is the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink located at the Plaza at Mesa City Center on 56 E. Main St. This year, the ice rink will have extended hours during the holidays, opening daily from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Jan. 4. This gives families and individuals more opportunities to skate while on vacation or winter break from school. On Dec. 24, the ice rink will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., but will be closed on Christmas Day. Tickets can be purchased online at merrymainst.com/icerink.
In addition to ice skating, Merry Main Street also offers outdoor movie nights every Friday at the Plaza at Mesa City Center. On Dec. 26, Elf will be shown followed by Beauty and the Beast on Jan. 2 and Frozen on Jan. 9 on a large screen located on the side of ASU MIX Center. Guests can enjoy these holiday classics while skating or by sitting under the stars on the lawn. All movies are closed-captioned for those who are hard of hearing.
