Mesa: Parks and Recreation Offering Lots of Late Summer and Fall Activities

- Teen Volleyball ~ As students head back to school, Mesa Parks and Recreation is gearing up for a season of fun and healthy activities. From teen volleyball to weekend swimming, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the coming weeks.
On Friday, August 14th, teens can meet other teens and spend the evening on the volleyball court at Red Mountain Center. Snacks and drinks will be provided for participants. Registration for this event is available online.
For those looking to cool off on the weekends, Skyline Aquatic Center and Rhodes Aquatic Complex will remain open on Saturdays and Sundays until September 6th. Both locations offer a variety of swimming options for all ages.
Lap swim is also available at Kino Aquatic Center and Skyline Aquatic Center for ages 12 and up. Fall lap passes are currently discounted until September 7th, with prices ranging from $45-$120 depending on age. Registration can be done online.

Families can also look forward to the Summer Birthday Party at Pioneer Park on Saturday, September 5th. This free community event will feature inflatables, miniature golf, foam activities, pinatas, snow cones, and more.
On Saturday, September 26th, The Plaza at Mesa City Center will host Skate Party @ The Plaza. This free event invites attendees to bring their skates and enjoy an evening of fun on wheels. Food trucks will also be available for a quick bite to eat while watching Shrek the Third under the stars.
Mark your calendars for Celebrate Mesa on Saturday, October 10th at Red Mountain Multiuse Fields South. This free family fall festival will include carnival rides, bounce houses, a petting zoo, face painting, live music, and more.
For those looking for a unique Halloween experience, Pumpkin Splash at Stapley Aquatic Complex is not to be missed. There are two separate sessions on Saturday October 24th - Afternoon Harvest from 3pm-5pm and Fright Night from 6pm-8pm. Admission is $10 and includes a pumpkin, carnival games, prizes, and a lifeguard costume contest. Pre-registration is required for this event.
