The junk silver calculator uses the industry-standard 715 troy oz per $1,000 face value formula for circulated 90% silver — versus the theoretical maximum of 723 troy oz for unworn coins. The scrap gold calculator covers 10K (41.67% gold, US federal minimum under 15 U.S.C. §294), 14K, 18K, 22K, and 24K grades.

The platform tracks the gold-silver ratio in real time, including its all-time high of approximately 127:1 in March 2020 and historical anchors: 15:1 (Coinage Act of 1792) and 15.5:1 (French statutory ratio, 1803).
