NAMI Collier speaker series features neurologist Dr. Matthew Baker
TelAve News/10906138
NAPLES, Fla. - TelAve -- NAMI Collier is bringing the community together with its speaker series, offering opportunities to learn, connect and explore important developments in mental health.
Dr. Matthew Baker will lead a presentation on Sept. 30 with "Emerging Therapies Targeting Depression," highlighting the science behind emerging psychedelic-assisted therapies being studied for the treatment of depression. He will review clinical trials of various compounds that have shown relatively rapid effects and durable responses in some populations. He will also share information about the current clinical research taking place in Naples for patients with depression.
Baker is a board-certified neurologist who has been practicing for more than 20 years. He has been a principal investigator in numerous clinical trials, many of which have resulted in regulatory approval of novel therapeutics across the spectrum of neurological disease, both here and abroad.
"We're pleased to welcome Dr. Baker as our speaker and to provide a look at the research behind emerging psychedelic-assisted therapies," said Beth Hatch, CEO of NAMI Collier. "By connecting our community with experts and current research, we hope to foster greater understanding, informed conversations and hope for the future of mental health care."
