~ Naperville Police Department Joins Statewide Efforts to Keep Thanksgiving Travel Safe

As the holiday season approaches, the Naperville Police Department is teaming up with the Illinois State Police and local partners to ensure safe travels for all. From November 21st to December 2nd, officers will be enforcing the "Click It or Ticket" and "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaigns, targeting seat-belt violations, speeding, distracted driving, and impaired driving due to alcohol or drugs.

According to Naperville Police Sgt. Eric Muska, Thanksgiving brings an increase in vehicles on the road, longer trips, and more festivities. He emphasizes the importance of wearing a seat belt as it remains one of the simplest and most effective ways to save lives in a crash. Sgt. Muska urges every driver and passenger to buckle up on every trip and make a plan for a sober ride before celebrating. He reminds those who choose to drink alcohol or use cannabis not to get behind the wheel.
