Naples Airport earns accreditation for workforce development program
TelAve News/10903620
NAPLES, Fla. - TelAve -- Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) has awarded Naples Airport its distinguished Airport Workforce Development Accreditation, a framework that helps airports and their business partners address workforce challenges.
Naples Airport was among just six airports in the U.S. and Canada that ACI-NA recognized during the organization's 2026 Business of Airports Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah. Others included the Houston Airport System, Rapid City Regional Airport, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, San Francisco International Airport and Los Angeles World Airports.
The accreditation program provides a strategic blueprint for workforce development by enhancing skills, elevating employee engagement and strengthening workforce readiness across the airport industry.
"ACI-NA's Workforce Development Accreditation continues to reflect our commitment to investing in the airport industry's premier workforce, and we're thrilled to honor these organizations in the program's second year," said Kevin M. Burke, president and CEO of ACI-NA, the trade association representing commercial service airports in the U.S. and Canada. "Strong leaders drive our industry, and today's honorees embody the hard work and commitment to shaping the workforce that propels aviation forward. I applaud the dedication of these airports and look forward to seeing the continual impact of their work."

ACI-NA's Airport Workforce Development Accreditation, which is administered by the advisory firm 4QD Strategy Consulting, aims to address challenges in attracting and retaining skilled talent by helping airports create future-ready workforces.
Naples Airport earned Level 1 accreditation, which is awarded to airports that establish foundational workforce practices and raise awareness about the airport's pivotal role in the community.
For employees, Naples Airport offers education reimbursement while covering costs for training, certification and leadership development programs. It also supports continuous learning for employees wanting to attend industry conferences, seminars and workshops.
Beyond offering training, development and professional growth programs for current employees, Naples Airport is actively engaging with youth to inspire them to consider careers in aviation. The airport recently established a partnership with Lorenzo Walker Technical College that provides hands-on experiences to students pursuing careers in aviation. The airport also collaborates with Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida to sponsor an annual Girls in Aviation Day and partners with Florida Gulf Coast University's Southwest Florida CEO program to provide immersive learning experiences to local high school students.
