Nova Classical STEM Academy hosts Dec. 20 open house for prospective families
TelAve News/10884093
FORT MYERS, Fla. - TelAve -- Nova Classical STEM Academy, opening in August 2026 as the first school in the world to integrate a Classical education model with STEM-enriched, project-based learning, will host an open house on Saturday, Dec. 20, for families interested in enrolling for the 2026–27 school year.
The event will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Nova Classical STEM Academy's Fort Myers campus, located at 7101 Banway Road. Families are invited to meet the Nova team and explore how the school blends the timeless principles of Classical education with advanced STEM integration to prepare students to think clearly, live with purpose and lead with integrity.
"Nova Classical STEM Academy was created to meet the needs of today's students while preserving the wisdom of Classical learning," said Dr. Yalcin Akin, president of Discovery Science Schools. "By integrating rigorous academics, hands-on STEM exploration and a strong foundation of character, Nova will inspire students to inquire deeply, create boldly and contribute meaningfully to their communities. We are excited to welcome families and share how Nova is redefining what a modern, purpose-driven education can be."

During the open house, attendees will learn what sets Nova apart — from full-time gifted and accelerated education to its emphasis on hands-on, project-based learning. Families will hear about signature elements of the Classical-STEM model, including Latin instruction; academic competitions in math, science and engineering; and a wide range of arts, athletics and academic clubs. Nova's approach combines rigorous academics with character education, ensuring students grow not only as scholars but as thoughtful contributors to their community.
Families will also have the opportunity to explore Nova's mission, vision and values, which define the school's culture of wisdom, character and innovation. As a tuition-free public charter school opening with grades K–7 and expanding annually to serve grades K–12, Nova Classical STEM Academy offers a learning environment where students don't just learn — they build, explore and leap ahead.
