Teaching youth how to recognize dangerous situations, respond to them correctly and report them to trusted individuals.

KIRKLAND, Wash. - TelAve -- The Kirkland School of Oom Yung Doe recently held its annual Children's Halloween Safety Seminar, giving young students practical tools to stay safe and confident during Halloween and beyond.

The seminar covered both general safety topics and Halloween-specific lessons, helping children learn how to recognize unsafe situations, respond appropriately, and know when and how to seek help. Instructors guided students through Oom Yung Doe's Three R's of Safety: Recognize, React, and Report, a simple and effective framework that helps children remember what to do if something doesn't feel right.

Students practiced using their voices, identifying safe adults, and applying basic self-defense and escape techniques. Parents were invited to observe and encouraged to continue practicing these lessons at home, helping to reinforce awareness and confidence in real-world situations.
