Peace Activists Resist 25 Years of the 9/11 Wars
TelAve News/10904265
A public forum marking the 25th anniversary of 9/11, featuring Dennis Kucinich and hosted by Sander Hicks.
NEW YORK - TelAve -- Former U.S. Congressman and presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich will speak at "Peace Activists Resist 25 Years of the 9/11 Wars," a public forum marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The event takes place Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Fifteenth Street Friends Meeting, 15 Rutherford Place, in Manhattan. Admission is free and open to the public.
Dennis Kucinich's decades-long record of resisting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has made him one of the progressive movement's leading voices for peace. He became the youngest mayor of a major American city when Cleveland elected him at age 31 in 1977, and went on to serve eight terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, from 1997 to 2013, where he delivered 341 floor speeches opposing the Iraq War and 155 more opposing war with Iran. In 2007, he introduced articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney for using manipulated intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraq. As a candidate for president in 2004 and 2008, Kucinich campaigned on creating a cabinet-level Department of Peace.

The event is hosted by author, journalist, and activist Sander Hicks, and convened under the care of the Speaker Events Committee at Fifteenth Street Friends Meeting, one of New York City's oldest Quaker houses of worship.
At the September 6 event, Kucinich will call for a new Congressional investigation into 9/11, examining how U.S. and Israeli officials coordinated talking points that falsely linked Iraq to the attacks — a fabrication that helped set in motion a war that killed a million Iraqis and 5,000 U.S. troops, and cost trillions of dollars, with no accountability to date.
