A Southern Ocean County Non-Profit Forum providing expert led guidance as America 250 and World Cup activities bring record summer attendance

MANAHAWKIN, N.J. - TelAve -- The Southern Ocean County Non Profit Forum, together with the Ocean County Culture & Heritage Commission, announces a free community safety program, Preparing for Summer 250, taking place from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Stockton University's Manahawkin Campus, located at 712 East Bay Avenue in Manahawkin, New Jersey. This timely session is designed to support organizations as the region prepares for an unprecedented summer driven by America 250 commemorations and the FIFA World Cup.

The program is presented in collaboration with the New Jersey Shield Hometown Security Initiative, which has long partnered with the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and its nonprofit affiliate SOCA to deliver pre‑summer safety briefings for nearly a decade. This year's forum continues that tradition by offering expert guidance on the current threat environment, active threat preparedness, infrastructure security, vulnerability awareness, and the importance of recognizing and reporting suspicious activity. Representatives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, local law enforcement agencies, the New Jersey State Police, and the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness will provide practical, actionable information for organizations hosting public events.

With historic tours, cultural programs, performances, demonstrations, and large‑scale gatherings expected to draw record numbers to the Jersey Shore, the forum aims to equip community groups with the knowledge needed to manage larger crowds, prepare volunteers, and strengthen overall event readiness. The anticipated increase in visitors for America's semi quincentennial and World Cup celebrations makes this year's preparation especially critical.

The event is open at no cost to businesses, nonprofit organizations, religious and cultural groups, youth organizations, and any community partners planning to host activities during this landmark summer season. Attendees will gain valuable insight into best practices that help protect people, facilities, and programs during high‑visibility events.

Advance registration is requested. Participants may RSVP through the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce website or by contacting the Chamber office directly www.visitLBIregion.com

Grant recipients for the Ocean County Culture & Heritage Commission will receive credits for attending. The Non-Profit Forum is presented by Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, Southern Ocean Chamber Association, NJ Sheild, Stockton University Manahawkin Campus & The Ocean County Culture & Heritage Commission.
