San Jose: : CityDance San José Monthly Dance and Music Series Returns This Summer

~ The City of San José is bringing back its popular CityDance San José series this summer, offering free, all-ages music and open-air dancing events in Downtown San José.
Located in the Circle of Palms, just outside of the San José Museum of Art, the series will provide professional dance lessons followed by dancing with a live band or DJ. Every month will focus on a different genre of music. The series includes free admission into the San José Museum of Art plus a specialized menu to purchase from Cafecito by Mezcal, the museum's café.
Kerry Adams Hapner, Director of Cultural Affairs for the City of San José said: "CityDance San José brings vibrancy to our downtown core and invites local artists to engage with our community. It is a pleasure to welcome this event's return. CityDance is an evening to connect with your friends, family, and artists through great dance, music, art, and food. Join us on the dance floor to celebrate various cultures and genres each night."
This year's dates and music genres are: June 15 – Country Line Dancing; July 20 – K-Pop; August 17 – Salsa; September 21 – World Dance Mosaic. Events will take place from 6 – 9 p.m., no advance registration is needed.

Here's a series where beginner dancers of all ages and cultures get free instruction and are eventually joined by a live band and the best dancers in the city of that genre. Hundreds celebrate in movement and choreography as dusk descends on the city. Perfection!"
The popular series has attracted more than 10,000 people over its six years running so far and past local performers and dance instructors have included Bloco Do Sol, Latin Heat, DJ Chale Brown, Parang, Starzz Dance Academy, and Discos Resaca Collective.
