Seeking To Save Others in Life

TelAve News/10861043
WALLA WALLA, Wash. - TelAve -- Zoe Burtch, a freshman at Walla Walla University in College Place, Washington, received a scholarship in the amount of $3,000.00 from the Lyons Aviation Foundation to support her desire to get her private pilot license for a fixed-wing powered engine plane.

Zoe grew up around small aircraft in Palmer, Alaska with her family.  Her dad had a Piper Cub, a two seat bush plane for many years, but sold it before she was born when her older sibling came along and there wasn't enough room for two adults and a car seat!  However, that never stopped Zoe and her interest in planes.  She is currently studying Aviation Management in college with the ultimate desire to be a Life Flight pilot one day.  When asked what draws her towards this type of piloting, she says that she is inspired by the one-on-one impact she knows she will be able to make someday with this kind of work.  She is well on her way to finishing her PPL, with a check ride scheduled for May.  This scholarship is helping her with these steps towards being fully licensed.  Zoe says, "I really appreciate the help, the support, and the generosity of the Lyons Aviation Foundation.  It gets me a little bit closer to being able to give back myself."
