Snowbird Technologies Unveils Next-Generation Composite Environmental Control Unit for U.S. Navy
TelAve News/10878198
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - TelAve -- Snowbird Technologies today announced the launch of its newest environmental control unit (ECU), the LCAC 36K BTU/HR Composite ECU (Model LCAC100-512-001C) — a lightweight, corrosion-resistant system engineered to deliver reliable performance in the most demanding maritime environments.
The new LCAC 36K Composite ECU features a fiberglass composite cabinet with an epoxy-coated finish, Heresite-coated aluminum internals, stainless steel hardware, and insulated, corrosion-resistant copper refrigeration lines. This advanced design ensures long-lasting durability and protection against harsh saltwater exposure aboard the U.S. Navy's Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) and Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) hovercraft fleets.
Compact and efficient, the unit provides filtered, cooled, and heated air through a single, self-contained system powered by an electric motor for continuous operation under varying loads. Key performance highlights include:
"Snowbird Technologies has proudly produced environmental control units for the U.S. Navy's LCACs and ship-to-shore connector vehicles for decades," said Scott Morse, Chief Executive and Owner of Snowbird Technologies. "This new composite model represents our ongoing commitment to innovation, sustainability, and mission readiness for our defense partners."
