South Bend: City To Provide Free Community Meal Pickups

~ The City of South Bend is stepping up to support its residents in need by hosting two free community meal pick-up events this November. As announced in a press release on November 17, 2025, the city will be providing hot and nutritious meals to those who may be struggling to put food on the table.
On Wednesday, November 19, the Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Center will be serving approximately 200 spaghetti-to-go meals on a first-come, first-served basis from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. or until supplies run out. Along with the spaghetti, green beans, corn, and bottled water will also be included in the meal.

The following day, Thursday, November 20, the Charles Black Community Center will also be offering approximately 200 of the same to-go meals from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., or until they run out. Community members are advised to go to the community room side doors off the parking lot for meal pick-ups.
In addition to these events, there will be two more free community meal pick-up events next month on December 17 and December 18. The city promises to share more details as those dates approach.
For those in need of additional food assistance resources, they can visit southbendin.gov/support for more information. The City of South Bend is committed to supporting its residents during these challenging times and hopes that these community meal pick-up events will provide some relief for those in need.
