Spokane: America's 250th Celebrated in Riverfront Park with Incredible Lineup

~ Spokane, Wash. - As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, Riverfront Park is gearing up for an incredible Independence Day celebration. The five-day event will feature a Summer Carnival, live music from the Spokane Symphony and MasterClass Big Band, and a spectacular fireworks display over the Spokane River.

The festivities will kick off on July 1 with the Summer Carnival presented by ICCU. Running until July 5, the carnival will offer classic rides, games, food and market vendors. Admission is free and ride tickets can be purchased on site. The carnival hours vary by date, so visitors are encouraged to check the website for full details and schedule.

On July 4th, presented by ICCU, a special Independence Day stage will be set up in the Lilac Bowl at Riverfront Park. The stage will host live music and entertainment throughout the day, including a performance by the Spokane Symphony Concert presented by ICCU featuring MasterClass Big Band. The evening will culminate with a breathtaking fireworks display over the Spokane River.

Mayor Lisa Brown expressed her excitement for the community to come together and celebrate this historic milestone. "We are excited to come together as a community to celebrate America's 250th birthday!" she said. "Everyone is invited to join us in Riverfront Park for live music, family-friendly activities, and fireworks as we celebrate this historic milestone together."

Spokane Symphony Executive Director Steve Wenig also shared his enthusiasm for being a part of this event. "Great music has great power to unite and bring us together," he said. "That spirit is especially prevalent during the July 4th celebration. The Spokane Symphony is honored to play a key role in this event, sharing in a moment of community with everyone gathering to enjoy the festivities in Riverfront Park."

The schedule for the 4th of July Celebration presented by ICCU includes Independence Day themed historic tours from 10-11 a.m. and noon-1 p.m., as well as a clock tower chime rededication at 11:30 a.m. The carnival and vendors will be open from noon until 11 p.m., with a beer garden opening at 5:30 p.m. In the evening, visitors can enjoy performances by MasterClass Big Band from 5:30-7 p.m. and the Spokane Symphony from 8:45-10 p.m. The night will end with a grand finale fireworks display at 10 p.m.

The clock tower chime rededication at 11:30 a.m. will be a special moment to officially welcome back the historic chimes of the tower after being silent for about a decade.

For those attending the concerts and fireworks, it is recommended to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Picnics are welcome, but outside alcohol is not permitted. Food and beverage vendors will be on site for refreshments.
