~ Spokane City Hall and other city facilities will be closed on Monday, September 7 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. This includes the Waste to Energy facility, which will also be closed on the holiday.

According to Erin Hut, Communications Director for Spokane City, garbage, recycling, and food & yard waste services will be delayed by one day after Labor Day. Normal Friday services will take place on Saturday. Residents who miss their garbage day can report their missed collection online.

In addition to these closures, there are several other changes and cancellations in effect for Labor Day. On-street paid parking meters and kiosks will not require payments, but all parking rules, including time limits, still apply. All branches of the Spokane Public Library will be closed and the Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services will also be closed.

Spokane 311 employees will not be available for in-person or phone assistance on Labor Day. However, requests can still be submitted online at Spokane311.org 24 hours a day. The Development Services Center employees will also not be available.

The Spokane City Council is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, September 8 with an agenda review at 11 a.m. and a committee meeting at 1 p.m. The legislative meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 9 at 6 p.m. These meetings can be viewed live on CityCable 5 or streamed online through Facebook or the city's website.

While the City's aquatic centers are closed for the season, some splash pads and all golf courses will remain open throughout the Labor Day weekend. However, splash pads will begin closing on Tuesday, September 8.

For those looking for entertainment options during the holiday weekend, the Looff Carrousel, Numerica SkyRide, and Numerica Skate Ribbon will all be open. More information can be found on the Riverfront website. Additionally, the Spokane Symphony will be performing a free Labor Day concert at Comstock Park. The concert will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the Spokane Symphony taking the stage at 6 p.m. on Monday, September 7.
