Spokane: Search Warrants Net Large Quantities of Guns, Drugs, and Money

~ On July 29th, 2025, the Spokane Police Department conducted search warrants at two different locations as part of a firearms investigation. The warrants were served at an address in north-west Spokane and another in Spokane County just north of Deer Park. The investigation was initiated by the SPD Special Investigations Unit (SIU) after receiving information about the transportation and sale of illegal firearms into the Spokane area.

Multiple agencies were involved in the serving of the warrants due to safety concerns and the involvement of several jurisdictions. The SPD SWAT team, along with HNT and the Air Support Unit (ASU), were joined by members of the ATF, SCSO SWAT, and Kootenai County SWAT. The warrants were served around 11am today.

According to Ofc. Daniel Strassenberg, PIO for the Spokane Police Department, the search warrants yielded significant evidence. A total of 17 firearms were seized, including a suppressor. Two of these firearms were non-serialized or "ghost guns". Thirteen handguns were also among the seized weapons.

In addition to the firearms, $10,000 in cash was found along with a large quantity of Xanax pills. Photos taken during the search show some of the evidence recovered by authorities.

The investigation is still ongoing and arrests are pending for suspects involved in this illegal firearms trafficking operation. The SPD urges anyone with information related to this case to come forward and assist with their investigation.
