Springfield, Mo. ~ Springfield Police Department Makes Arrest in Series of Residential Burglaries
A string of residential burglaries in southeast Springfield has been solved by the diligent work of detectives from the Springfield Police Department's Property Crimes Unit. The burglaries, which began in September and continued through October, involved thefts from vehicles, sheds, and surrounding properties.
After a thorough investigation, 34-year-old Cory Mincks was identified as the suspect. On October 12th, officers responded to a report of an in-progress burglary and were able to apprehend Mincks. He was subsequently charged with second-degree burglary and two counts of stealing by the Greene County Prosecutor's Office. Mincks is currently being held at the Greene County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Further evidence was uncovered during a search warrant executed at Mincks' residence on October 14th. Stolen property connected to previous reports was recovered, leading to the possibility of additional charges being filed once the investigation is complete.
The Springfield Police Department is urging anyone who believes they may have been a victim of these burglaries to come forward and file a report. They can contact the department at 417-864-1810 or report the theft online at springfieldmo.gov/police.
The Greene County Prosecutor's Office reminds the public that these charges against Mincks are merely allegations and he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. This serves as an ongoing investigation and any new developments will be reported as they become available.
