Springfield: City Launches Resident Feedback Survey on Convention & Events Center Discussions

TelAve News/10882859
~ As the City of Springfield continues to discuss the potential for a new Convention & Events Center, they have launched a community-wide survey to gather feedback from residents and regular voters. This survey comes after the November election and aims to gain a better understanding of community priorities, concerns, and perspectives.

According to City Manager David Cameron, the survey is part of a larger effort that includes listening sessions. The responses collected will help city leadership and partners determine what information residents need and what adjustments may need to be made moving forward.

Cameron emphasized the importance of hearing directly from Springfield residents, regardless of their stance on the proposed center. He stated, "Whether you supported, opposed, or didn't vote on the proposal, your perspective is important." He encouraged as many people as possible to participate in the survey, which only takes 6-8 minutes to complete and guarantees anonymity for respondents.

The survey will also gather address information in order to understand geographic trends but this information will not be linked to individual responses. The results will be shared with City Council and the City's Leadership Team to assist in future decision making.

Residents are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to have their voices heard by completing the survey before it closes on December 19. The City hopes that this feedback will aid in making informed decisions about the potential Convention & Events Center.
