TelAve News/10867339
~ On Saturday, Oct. 28, the Springfield Police Department took to the streets to conduct a DWI Saturation Patrol. This operation was aimed at cracking down on drunk driving and promoting road safety. A total of 34 traffic stops were made during the patrol, resulting in four arrests for Driving While Intoxicated and one arrest for an outstanding warrant.

The Saturation Patrol was made possible through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation's Division of Highway Safety. This funding allowed for increased police presence on the roads and ultimately led to the apprehension of several dangerous drivers.

The consequences of drunk driving are severe and can have lasting impacts on both individuals and society as a whole. These consequences include jail time, loss of driving privileges, mandatory use of ignition interlocks, and increased insurance rates. In addition, those convicted of drunk driving may also face financial losses such as attorney fees, court costs, lost time at work, and even the potential loss of their job.

As a journalist reporting on this event, it is important to remind readers that drunk driving is not worth the consequences. The message is clear: if you choose to drink and drive, you will lose. Let this serve as a reminder to always make responsible decisions when getting behind the wheel.
