These officers have undergone an intensive five-week training program, totaling 200 hours, to familiarize themselves with Springfield and its police department. Following their graduation, they will be paired with experienced field-training officers for an additional six weeks of on-the-job training.

Once they have completed this program, these officers will be assigned to the SPD's Uniform Operations Bureau. The community is encouraged to attend the ceremony and welcome these new additions to the Springfield Police Department as they embark on their new roles. Congratulations to Rick Crawshaw, Regan Gustafson, and Amy Zimmerman on their successful completion of the lateral academy program.
