A Response to the Intrusion on Prayer, Religious Freedom, and the Sanctity of the Sanctuary, Calling for Accountability After the Violation of Worshippers' Civil and Constitutional Rights
ST. PAUL, Minn. - TelAve -- Statement on the Disruption of Worship at Cities Church, St. Paul, Minnesota
St. Paul, Minnesota — January 19, 2026
The Church For Life, Inc. expresses deep concern and firm condemnation regarding the disruption that occurred inside the sanctuary of Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota, during a time of prayer and worship. Individuals associated with the Racial Justice Network and Black Lives Matter Minnesota entered the sanctuary and interrupted the congregation's religious observance, violating the worshippers' civil rights and their constitutionally protected freedom to practice their faith without interference.
A house of worship is a sacred space. It is a place where individuals gather for prayer, reflection, and spiritual refuge. No matter the political or social issue at hand, no group has the right to intrude upon a congregation's worship service or to disrupt the peaceful exercise of religious devotion.

While Pastor's public role as Acting ICE Office Director may have drawn attention to the church, nothing justifies the intrusion that took place within the sanctuary. The actions carried out during this incident disregarded the sanctity of the moment, disrespected the worshippers present, and undermined the fundamental principles of religious liberty that protect all faith communities.
The Church For Life, Inc. stands firmly in support of the worshippers whose rights were violated and affirms that houses of worship must remain places of peace, reverence, and protection from political confrontation. We call for accountability for those responsible and urge all individuals and organizations—regardless of viewpoint—to respect the civil rights and religious freedoms guaranteed to every person in this nation.
We remain committed to advocating for the protection of sacred spaces and the right of all people to worship freely, without fear, intimidation, or disruption.
