Surf Therapy & Mindfulness Event at SURFSET NYC

RAD Surf & Auraswell Collective's Afternoon of Wellness in The East Village. This in-studio Surf Therapy Experience included meditation led by Serena Azizo.
NEW YORK - TelAve -- RAD Surf partnered with SURFSET NYC & Auraswell Collective on May 20th in The East Village of Downtown Manhattan. The afternoon of wellness was centered around mindfulness, gratitude, and giving back. Included were two 30 minute in-studio Surf Therapy sessions at SURFSET NYC with powerful meditation offerings led by celebrity yoga instructor Serena Azizo. Refreshments, Gift Bags, and Thoughtful Discussions were provided. Through the public's contributions RAD is able to help pediatric patients find the courage to take on treatment by way of learning to surf in an inclusive surfing community. Alongside the assistance from RAD's dedicated volunteers, these athletes can feel encouragement and empowerment to overcome critical illnesses and mental health adversity. Restoring A Dream (RAD Surf And Board, Corp.) is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization dedicated to restoring hope in the lives of children who have been diagnosed with cancers, pediatric diseases, genetic disorders, and mental health challenges. RAD embraces their love the ocean and its power to heal. By using the sport of surfing RAD encompass a healthy way of living to transform mindsets and overcome hardship.
Founders: Helen Scott Ching, a native Cape Codder, and Michael Ching, born and raised on the island of Oahu, met on Haleiwa's fabled north shore in Hawai'i. Eventually the couple became husband and wife and started a new family in NYC and founded Restoring A Dream. They believe water is healer, inspiration, teacher and friend. Helen and Mike both practice healing arts, nutrition, fitness and total wellness always with an educational setting. When they are not busy with their young son , Michael works with youth and the education system. Helen is an active volunteer of the New York Junior League, advocate, and works in financial affairs. https://www.radsurf.org
