Texas: Governor Abbott Activates State Emergency Response Resources Ahead Of Flood Threat
TelAve News/10881589
~ As severe weather is expected to hit large areas of Texas starting tomorrow, Governor Greg Abbott has taken action to ensure the safety of all Texans. He has directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to activate state emergency response resources in preparation for the potential impacts.
In a statement, Governor Abbott emphasized the state's readiness to deploy all necessary resources to assist local communities in their response and preparation for the severe weather. He urged Texans to stay informed by checking local weather reports and road conditions, as well as having an emergency plan in place for themselves and their families. The governor also reminded everyone to "Turn Around, Don't Drown" when encountering flooded roads.
According to the National Weather Service, a storm system is expected to move into Texas tomorrow, bringing heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding. Other potential risks include damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes. The impact is anticipated across significant portions of the state, including West, North, Central, Southwest, and East Texas. The threat is expected to last through the end of the week before leaving the state.
