Texas: Governor Abbott Announces Governor's Small Business Summit For Hays County

~ Governor Greg Abbott has announced that a Governor's Small Business Summit will be held in Kyle, Texas on June 12. This summit is part of a series of events held throughout the year in different regions of the state, with the aim of providing resources and information to help small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs succeed.

In his statement, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of small businesses in Texas' economy, stating that they are the driving force behind job creation and business expansion. With over 3.3 million small businesses in the state employing nearly half of all working Texans, it is clear that they play a crucial role in building a strong and prosperous Texas.

The Governor's Small Business Summit in Hays County will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on critical business topics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other business owners and experts who will share valuable advice on various small business topics.

The event will take place at Stone Hall at Texas Old Town and will feature sessions on balancing tech innovation with cyber protection, adaptable strategies for a changing workforce, and marketing insights to drive real results. The keynote speaker for this summit is Brian McCoy, Board Chairman of McCoy's Building Supply.

The Governor's Small Business Summit in Hays County is hosted by the Governor's Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance in partnership with several local chambers of commerce and the Texas Workforce Commission.

Registration is also open for upcoming summits in different locations throughout 2025 including Bastrop, Rockport-Fulton, Waxahachie, Pharr, Big Lake, Eagle Pass, Carthage, Dalhart (Women-Focused Event), Belton (Veteran-Focused Event), and Denton (Women-Focused Event).

For those unable to attend in person, the Governor's Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance also host online webinars to share information about resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Texas.
