Texas: Governor Abbott Announces Latest Slate Of Appointments

~ This week, Governor Greg Abbott announced his selection of several qualified individuals to serve on behalf of the state of Texas. These appointments cover a range of positions, from judicial roles to advisory committees and boards.
One notable appointment is that of Judy Parker as the Chief Justice of the Seventh Court of Appeals. Governor Abbott has appointed Parker for a term set to expire on December 31, 2026. With her extensive experience in the legal field, Parker is well-equipped to lead the court and uphold justice for Texans.
In Tarrant County, H. Dustin "Dusty" Fillmore III has been appointed as Judge of the 236th Judicial District Court. His term will also expire on December 31, 2026. Fillmore brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role, having previously served as an assistant district attorney in Tarrant County.
Governor Abbott has also made appointments to the Child Protective Investigations Advisory Committee. Ryan D. Larson has been named chair and Terence Davis has been appointed for terms set to expire on September 1, 2029. This committee will play a crucial role in improving the accuracy and standardization of investigative procedures in cases involving child abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Julie Ruehle has been appointed and Stacey Neal Combest and Ellen K. Ramsey have been reappointed for terms set to expire on December 31, 2027. These individuals will work towards strengthening Texas communities by promoting knowledge and understanding in various humanities disciplines.
