Texas: Governor Abbott Announces Latest Slate Of Appointments

~ Governor Greg Abbott has made several appointments this week, selecting qualified individuals to serve on behalf of the people of Texas. These appointments include Leslie Timmons as District Attorney for the 31st Judicial District in Gray, Hemphill, Lipscomb, Roberts, and Wheeler Counties. Timmons' term will expire on December 31, 2026 or until a successor is elected and qualified.

In addition, Boyd Bauer has been appointed as Judge of the 156th Judicial District Court in Aransas, Bee, Live Oak, McMullen, and San Patricio Counties. Bauer's term will also expire on December 31, 2026.

Michael Ferry has been selected by Governor Abbott to serve as Judge of the 213th Judicial District Court in Tarrant County. Ferry's term will expire on December 31, 2026 or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Governor Abbott has also named Jason Bernal as chair of the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners. Bernal's term will expire at the pleasure of the Governor. The Board is responsible for regulating the practice of social work in Texas.
