AUSTIN ~ Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Laura Beth Fossett as the new Judge of the 137th Judicial District Court in Lubbock County. Fossett, a resident of Lubbock, brings with her a wealth of experience and qualifications to the position.

Having served as an assistant district attorney in the Lubbock Criminal District Attorney's Office for 14 years, Fossett is well-versed in the legal system. She is also an active member of various legal associations, including the Lubbock County Bar Association and the Lubbock Women's Bar Association.

In addition to her legal career, Fossett is also actively involved in her community. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Lubbock and serves as a volunteer and board member for her children's school's PTA.

Fossett holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Abilene Christian University and a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University. Her term as Judge will expire on December 31, 2026.
