Texas: Governor Abbott Appoints Moberley To Interstate Commission For Adult Offender Supervision

~ Governor Greg Abbott has recently appointed Marsha Moberley to the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision. Moberley, a resident of Lakeway, will serve on the Commission for a term determined by the Governor. The purpose of this Commission is to establish consistent procedures for managing the movement of offenders between states who are under community supervision and have been released into the community by courts, paroling authorities, or other criminal justice agencies.

Moberley brings with her over 28 years of experience in the criminal justice field. She previously served as the Chief Probation Officer for Deaf Smith and Oldham counties and currently holds the position of board chair and former commissioner of the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. She is also a member of various organizations such as the Association of Paroling Authorities International and American Probation and Parole Association.

In addition, Moberley has also held leadership roles in regional planning commissions and probation officers associations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from East Carolina University.

Governor Abbott expressed his confidence in Moberley's qualifications and believes she will be an asset to the Commission in achieving its goals. Moberley's appointment is effective immediately.
