Texas: Governor Abbott Appoints Parker As Chief Justice Of The Seventh Court Of Appeals

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Judy Parker as the new Chief Justice of the Seventh Court of Appeals. Parker, who currently serves as Place 2 Justice on the court, will hold this position until December 31, 2026.

Parker brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She is a founding member and judicial master of the Texas Tech University (TTU) School of Law American Inn of Court and also serves as a director for the Panhandle Family Law Association. In addition, she is an active member of several legal organizations including the State Bar of Texas, Lubbock Area Bar Association, The Federalist Society, and the Amarillo Area Bar Association.

Outside of her legal career, Parker is involved in various community organizations such as The CH Foundation and the Junior League of Lubbock. She is also a member of First Baptist Church - Lubbock. Parker holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Government from Angelo State University and a Juris Doctor from TTU School of Law.

With her extensive background and dedication to both law and community service, Parker is well-equipped to serve as Chief Justice for the Seventh Court of Appeals.
