~ In a recent press conference, Governor Greg Abbott proudly announced the successful passing of a series of conservative and pro-growth legislation during the 89th Legislative Session. These laws, which were promised to Texans during his 2025 State of the State Address, are set to benefit generations to come.

Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude towards Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, Speaker Dustin Burrows, and other leaders in the Texas Legislature for their collaboration in delivering these historic conservative laws. He stated, "Working together, we have achieved significant milestones that will make Texas stronger, safer, and more prosperous than ever before in our state's history."

The Governor worked closely with the Texas Legislature to fulfill constitutionally declared Emergency Items and key priorities that will have a positive impact on Texans. These include initiatives under the categories of Brighter Texas, Safer Texas, More Powerful Texas, and More Prosperous Texas.

Under Brighter Texas, Governor Abbott launched the largest day-one school choice program in the nation and invested a record $8.5 billion in new funding for public education. Additionally, a historic $4 billion was allocated for teacher and staff pay raises. The expansion of career training education was also prioritized with an additional $153 million to provide students with better job opportunities upon graduation. The Parent's Bill of Rights was passed to give parents more control over their child's education. Furthermore, measures were taken to ban DEI from public schools and universities and codify that only two sexes - male and female - are recognized in Texas. Explicit materials were also removed from schools.

Over $3.35 billion was invested in border security measures while all counties with jails were required to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The sale of Texas land to foreign adversaries like China was also banned. The establishment of the Texas Cyber Command, the largest state-based cybersecurity department in America, was another significant achievement. Schools were also mandated to report sexual abuse and misconduct, and investments were made in rural and volunteer fire departments. Additionally, parental control over their child's internet access was increased, and measures were taken to improve the integrity of Texas' elections.

Under More Powerful Texas, Governor Abbott dedicated a $20 billion generational investment in the state's water infrastructure and created the Texas Advanced Nuclear Energy Office to lead America's nuclear renaissance. A nuclear energy workforce development program was also established, and $5 billion was added to generate more power for the electric grid. Efforts were also made to increase the reliability of the electricity supply chain to further secure the Texas grid.
