Texas: Governor Abbott Names Chair, Reappoints Davis To Commercial Oyster Mariculture Advisory Board

~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Eric Davis to the Commercial Oyster Mariculture Advisory Board for a term that will end on February 1, 2031. Along with this reappointment, the Governor has also named Bradley "Brad" Lomax as the chair of the board for a second term. The board is responsible for regulating the commercial oyster mariculture industry.

Lomax, who hails from Corpus Christi, brings a wealth of experience to his role as chair. He is the founder of Texas Oyster Mariculture Consulting LLC and serves as Chairman of the Texas Surf Conservancy. Lomax is also a member of the Texas Oyster Mariculture Task Force and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Mary's University.

Joining Lomax on the board is Eric Davis from Mont Belvieu. Davis is currently employed by Pappas Restaurants, Inc. and also serves on the Barbers Hill Independent School District School Board. He is an active member of the National Fisheries Institute and volunteers at Faith Family Church - Baytown. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Houston.

Both Lomax and Davis bring valuable expertise and dedication to their roles on the Commercial Oyster Mariculture Advisory Board, ensuring that this important industry is effectively regulated for years to come.
