~ In a recent announcement, Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Kevin Scott and Dan Syphrett to the Gulf Coast Authority (GCA) Board of Directors. Their terms are set to expire on August 31, 2028. The GCA is responsible for providing water systems and regulating water pollution and waste disposal within the district.

Scott, a resident of Santa Fe, brings a wealth of experience to the board as he is the co-owner and funeral director of Scott Funeral Home in Alvin. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Master of Science in Educational Management from the University of Houston – Clear Lake, and a Funeral Director Certification from St. Louis Community College.

Syphrett, who hails from Stowell, has retired after a successful career as an electric utility manager. He is also actively involved in his community as a member of the East Chambers Education Foundation Gala Committee.

As members of the GCA Board of Directors, Scott and Syphrett will play crucial roles in conducting studies and research on controlling water pollution and waste disposal within the district. Their reappointments demonstrate Governor Abbott's confidence in their abilities to effectively serve on the board.
