Texas: Governor Abbott Reappoints Trapp As Presiding Judge Of The Second Administrative Judicial Region

~ Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Robert Trapp as the Presiding Judge of the Second Administrative Judicial Region. Trapp, a resident of The Woodlands, has been serving in this role since 2022 and will continue to do so for another four years.
Trapp brings a wealth of experience to his position, having previously served as the County Attorney of San Jacinto County until 1990. He was then appointed by Governor Clements as the first ever Criminal District Attorney of San Jacinto County. In 1995, Governor Bush appointed him as the first ever judge on the 411th District Court, which served Polk, Trinity and San Jacinto Counties.
In 2013, Trapp began serving as a senior visiting district judge for the Second Administrative Judicial Region until July of 2014. He then returned to his role as Criminal District Attorney of San Jacinto County after being appointed by Governor Perry. He held this position until his retirement in 2022.

In May of that same year, Governor Abbott appointed Trapp as the Presiding Judge of the Second Region. In addition to his legal career, Trapp is also an active member of his community. He is a lifelong member of Coldspring Methodist Church and has held various leadership positions within the church.
Trapp's community involvement also includes volunteering for Care/Share Missions Inc., serving as an assistant pack leader for Cub Scouts, supporting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in Walker, Trinity and San Jacinto Counties, and being a member of the San Jacinto County Youth Livestock Buyer's group.
Trapp holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Houston and a Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law. With his extensive experience and dedication to both his profession and community, Trapp is well-equipped to continue serving as Presiding Judge for the Second Administrative Judicial Region.
