~ In response to a federal court in El Paso issuing an injunction against the use of Texas' 2025 congressional redistricting map, Governor Greg Abbott has released a statement expressing his disagreement with the ruling. According to the governor, the redrawing of the maps was done solely to accurately represent the conservative voting preferences of Texans and any claims of discrimination are baseless. He also stated that the ruling undermines the authority given to the Texas Legislature by imposing a different map through judicial means. The state plans to appeal this decision to the United States Supreme Court in a timely manner.
