Nonfarm jobs in Texas reached a total of 14,469,300 after an increase of 5,600 jobs in August alone. Additionally, there were a total of 15,225,100 Texans working (including self-employed individuals) and a labor force totaling 15,932,600 with an increase of 10,900 people over the past year.

In addition to celebrating these impressive numbers for the state's economy, Governor Abbott also announced earlier this week that four West Central Texas schools will receive Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grants totaling $1,327,075. These grants will be used to purchase and install equipment that will help train students for high-demand occupations such as welders and nurses.
