WASHINGTON - TelAve -- The Small Environmental Business Action Coalition (SEBAC) is pleased to announce that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) is the recipient of the 2024 Award for Excellence. SEBAC presents the award to recognize a federal agency's demonstrated commitment to small environmental businesses.
Procurement data researched by GovSpend + Fedmine specific to North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) codes 562910 and 541620 was evaluated based on the number and quality of agency procurements and the agency's overall commitment to small businesses. These data were used as a component in determining the recipient of the Award for Excellence along with a pre-established set of criteria which includes three key components:

In the federal government's fiscal year 2024, USEPA exceeded the Small Business Administration's statutory goal of 23% by awarding 59% of prime contractor dollars in NAICS codes 562910 and 541620 to small businesses. SEBAC recognizes USEPA for acknowledging the strength of the environmental small business community by setting aside major contracts, such as single award and multiple award environmental compliance and remedial action contracts.
Mr. Dwyer and Award for Excellence Chairperson Monica Cooper will present the Award during SEBAC's Networking Reception and Award Presentation during the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Small Business Conference at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in The Rivergate Terrace room on the second floor of the Convention Center.
Sponsors of the Award for Excellence are Arrowhead Contracting, KEMRON Environmental Services and Perma-Fix; sponsors of the Networking Reception are I.C.E. Member companies perform environmental investigations, design, engineering, remediation, operations and maintenance, and ordinance and explosives work for federal agencies and commercial businesses.
