U.S. Navy and City of Houston Announce Participating Ships for Inaugural Fleet Week Houston

March 16, 2026 ~ Houston, TX - The first-ever Fleet Week Houston is set to take place from April 15-22, bringing U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard vessels to the Port of Houston and greater Houston area. This historic event is a partnership between the U.S. Navy and the City of Houston, offering the public a unique opportunity to engage with service members and learn about their vital roles in national defense and maritime security.
The lineup of ships participating in Fleet Week Houston has been announced, including the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3), a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship designed for multi-purpose operations such as troop transport and aircraft support. Also participating is the USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (LCS-21), a Freedom-class littoral combat ship optimized for operations in near-shore environments with high speed and agility. Joining them will be the USS Cooperstown (LCS-23), another Freedom-class littoral combat ship with advanced capabilities for coastal missions, as well as the USCGC Edgar Culbertson (WPC-1137), a Sentinel-class fast response cutter equipped for various missions including search and rescue, law enforcement, and port security. Fleet Week Houston will feature public ship tours, community outreach events, educational demonstrations, and interactions across Houston with over 1,000 Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen.
