Verado Intelligence Offers Business Due Diligence Services to SMBs Built on Public Records

Independent firm delivers written vendor and acquisition research in as little as 48 hours
PORTLAND, Ore. - TelAve -- A homeowners association hands a roofing crew a six-figure check. A contractor names a teaming partner on a bid due Friday. A buyer signs for a dental practice. Each one is a decision to trust a company with real money, and in most cases nobody has checked who that company actually is. Verado Intelligence launched this week to do that checking, delivering independent research on vendors, partners, and acquisition targets built entirely from public records.
Third-party risk is climbing across the board. The share of reported breaches involving an outside partner doubled to 30 percent in 2025, according to Verizon's Data Breach Investigations Report, and that figure is only the most closely tracked slice of a wider problem that runs through contractors, subcontractors, and the businesses changing hands every day. Large companies keep due diligence teams on payroll to catch these problems before a deal closes. A five-person contractor bidding on a big job does not.

Verado works with four kinds of client. Boards and community associations vetting a contractor before a major project. Prime contractors screening a teaming partner ahead of a proposal deadline. Healthcare buyers reviewing a practice before close, including medical and dental groups. Business buyers checking an acquisition target before they sign. What links them is the absence of a research function. The work that would surface a lapsed license or a pattern of litigation is exactly the work that gets skipped when no one on staff owns it.
"Most people don't get burned by the vendor they thoroughly researched," said founder Cindy Peterman. "They get burned by the one they ran out of time to look into. Verado does that looking for them, fast enough to fit inside a real deadline."
The firm's healthcare work is a distinct specialty. In a practice acquisition, a single excluded provider or a quietly lapsed license can turn a clean-looking deal into an expensive problem after closing, and Verado's reports fold in the federal and state regulatory checks that surface those issues before money changes hands.

Verado draws a clear line around what it does. This is public records research, not surveillance and not a licensed investigation. No consent from the subject is required, because everything Verado examines is already on the public record.
